Calcutta's Divine Intervention (Cal)
2020 Registered Missouri Fox Trotter Gelding
W2 Horses is proud to offer Calcutta’s Divine Intervention, affectionately known as Cal, a drop-dead, GORGEOUS, majestic, and athletic 6-year-old registered Missouri Fox Trotter gelding that stands 15.2 hh. Cal is the kind that stops you in your tracks! He checks all the boxes with his beautiful, dark golden color, exquisite stout conformation, and extensive list of talents and skills. We have owned Cal for two years, and in that time, he has steadily blossomed into a well-rounded, dependable, and incredibly versatile partner. He’s been exposed to just about everything we could throw his way, from extreme trail riding and mounted shooting to bridleless riding, tricks, and so much more. From the beginning, he was brought along the right way, and it shows in everything he does. He’s confident in his foundation and carries that into every ride. He’ll stand quietly and patiently for mounting from either side, and with just a cue, he’ll side pass right up to the mounting block to meet you. He rides one-handed with a soft, easy neck rein, moves willingly off your legs, backs with light pressure, and stops off your seat with a simple “whoa.” There’s a natural feel to him that makes everything come easy, like he’s reading your mind and already knows what you’re asking. His running walk is ground-covering and comfortable, his gait is naturally smooth and easy to sit all day, and his lope is as smooth as they come, balanced, collected, and will pick up both leads with clean, easy transitions. The kind of smooth that you simply can’t mess up, no matter the skill level of the rider. Cal shines on the trails. He’s seasoned, steady, and dependable, the kind you can trust to take care of you no matter where you point him. Whether it’s steep mountain trails, thick brush, rocky descents, or rugged high-country terrain, he navigates it all with careful foot placement, confidence, and a level head. He has the strength and stamina to pack your gear up the mountain all day long and still stay fresh and willing. He is always ready to go where you ask without hesitation, and he does it in a way that keeps you relaxed, comfortable, and wanting to stay in the saddle just a little longer. He’s been around it all from water, bridges, cattle, dogs, bullwhips, gunfire, traffic, wagons, and wildlife. You name it, he’s done it. He is absolutely exceptional around gunfire; you can shoot a shotgun off his back, and he will stand there like it’s nothing, never offering a flinch. The same goes for loud, popping bullwhips, he handles it with complete composure and confidence, making him as reliable as they come in any situation. If there’s a job to be done, he’s the kind who steps up and is ready to do it. He’s also got a fun side that makes him stand out even more. Cal knows how to lay down on command, whether you’re on the ground or in the saddle, adding an extra level of connection and trust between horse and rider. He’ll drag whatever you dally to the horn and handle it with ease, showing both his willingness and capability. We have even used him to rope and doctor a few calves. There’s a lot of heart in this horse, and he gives it every time you swing a leg over him. He can also be ridden bareback and bridleless, which is a true testament to just how in tune he is with his rider and how honest he is in everything he does. Cal is a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He’s easy to catch and enjoys being around people. He stands quietly and respectfully for the farrier, grooming, and bathing, and he’s patient from start to finish while you’re tacking up. He genuinely enjoys the attention and never turns down a good treat. He loads, unloads, and travels well, making him an easy choice whether you’re heading out for a weekend trip or hauling across the country. Cal is the kind you grow attached to quickly. There’s just something about him, the way he meets you at the gate, the way he carries himself, the way he takes care of his rider that pulls you in. He’s kind, respectful, and easy to be around, with a quiet confidence that carries through everything he does. He’s flashy enough to catch anyone’s eye, yet solid and dependable enough to be someone’s go-to, everyday partner. I really love this horse. He truly wants to please, and I know he’ll bring someone a lifetime of happiness while looking absolutely gorgeous doing it. He is as good as it gets. You will not find a better trained, more fun, or prettier horse anywhere. He’s that once-in-a-lifetime kind of horse you spend years searching for, the kind that makes every ride better, whether you’re trail riding, camping, working cattle, or just soaking up quiet time together. Cal is special, through and through. *** Consigned to the Wyoming All Breed Gaited Horse Sale in Powell, WY on June 20, 2026. Online bidding available: https://www.henyauctionwy.com/ ***
