Thumper is a 5-year-old Missouri Fox Trotter pony gelding standing 13 hands tall that comes from true registered Missouri Fox Trotter bloodlines. Built with excellent conformation and plenty of substance, he has the look and feel of a little horse instead of a typical pony. We purchased Thumper directly from his breeder and have proudly owned him for the last two years, where he has become a favorite in our program. Thumper has a personality that makes everyone fall in love with him. He absolutely adores children and thrives on attention. Around our barn, the kids are constantly arguing over whose turn it is to ride him. He is patient, kind, and dependable, the type of pony parents can feel confident putting their children on. He has spent countless miles on the trails carrying kids safely and happily, and he takes care of them every step of the way. He has been trained just like our big horses and has gone through our full program, learning softness, responsiveness, ranch work, trail obstacles, and more. Thumper has an exceptionally smooth, natural gait that makes riding comfortable and enjoyable for children, and he transitions easily into a nice lope on both leads. He neck reins, responds to leg pressure, backs up willingly, and will even side pass to the mounting block for your little one to get on, standing perfectly still for mounting and dismounting. Out on the trail, Thumper is confident and steady. He crosses water, logs, ditches, and rough terrain confidently. He is quiet in groups, comfortable riding alone, and easily keeps up with the big horses all day long. Dogs, cattle, traffic, flags, gunfire, and bullwhips do not bother him. He stays level-headed and willing no matter what is asked of him. Around the barn, Thumper is just as enjoyable. He is easy to catch anywhere, follows you around like a puppy, stands tied quietly for hours, and is hobble broke. He stands well for the farrier, bathing, grooming, saddling, and bridling, always lowering his head willingly for the bridle. He has absolutely no meanness or pony attitude. He is kind, respectful, and truly enjoys being around people. Thumper is also full of fun personality. He can be ridden bareback, knows how to lay down, and will even drag the kids around on a sled for hours of fun.
