W2 Horses is beyond proud to present Cash’s Roan Rocket Boy, affectionately known as Larry — a once-in-a-lifetime gelding who truly has it all. This stunning 5-year-old, registered Tennessee Walking Horse/McCurdy Plantation Horse stands a proud 15.1 hands and is the full package: beauty, brains, and a heart of gold.
From the moment Larry joined our family, he stole our hearts. With his rich bay roan color, charming personality, and eager-to-please attitude, Larry quickly became a favorite in the barn — and for good reason. He's not just a horse; he’s a partner, a teacher, and a best friend wrapped into one sweet, steady package.
Larry is a kind, sweet, and willing horse who loves to connect with people and give his all. Over the past two years, we’ve dedicated ourselves to carefully shaping him into the incredible horse he is today. He’s been trained with patience, consistency, and love, progressing from the basics to a polished, responsive ride. Whether it’s basic groundwork or bridleless riding under saddle, Larry shows off a level of trust and communication that's rare to find.
Larry has kind and respectful ground manners and will follow you around like a loyal pup. Under saddle, he’s soft, responsive, and light in the bridle. He yields to leg pressure, moves off your seat, and carries himself with elegance. His smooth, natural gait feels like floating — no special shoes or training gimmicks required. He stays effortlessly in gait on a loose rein or even without a bridle, making him a dream for riders of all skill levels. Larry knows how to neck rein, back up with ease, and lope both leads. Larry is incredibly versatile and bombproof. He can even be ridden bareback and bridleless at the same time, a true testament to his trust and responsiveness.
Larry is an adventurer at heart and a steady partner on the trail. His extensive trail resume includes traveling all over the country, including Wyoming and Colorado, where he’s been ridden through the wilderness on the Continental Divide at over 12,000 feet elevation. He’s unfazed by wildlife, water, traffic, machinery, or sudden surprises. He’s also safe with fire, smoke, bicycles on the trail, and confidently crosses bridges without hesitation. He’s surefooted, experienced, and incredibly seasoned on the trail. He’ll lead, follow, or go solo — all with the same calm confidence.
He has also proven himself as a gentle and patient teacher. We've used him to give pony rides and lessons to young novice riders, and he was a perfect gentleman every time. He is patient, forgiving, and is even safe enough for kids to take out on solo trail rides.
Larry is all business when it comes to work — he’s been used for bird hunting, cowboy-mounted shooting, and all sorts of ranch tasks. He handles gunfire, balloons, and chaos like a pro, confidently carrying the American flag without a flinch. He’s great with dogs (even if they hop on for a ride) and unbothered by birds flying up in his face, like quail during hunts. On the ranch, he’s a strong, stout partner who’s ready to sort cattle, check the herd, open gates, and drag anything you can dally to the saddle horn — all with calm confidence and a can-do attitude.
Larry’s also a bit of a showman. He’ll sidepass up to a mounting block and enjoys showing off his fun tricks like lying down on cue, whether you’re on the ground or in the saddle. Tricks are a fun way for him to bond with you — and he’s always eager to learn more.
To add to his impressive list of talents, Larry’s pedigree is packed with legacy, tracing back to legendary names like McCurdy’s Roan Lightning. This heritage shines through in everything Larry does, from his smooth movement to his rock-solid mind.
Whether you're an experienced rider looking for a high-caliber, versatile horse or someone who just wants a trustworthy, loving companion for trail rides and tricks, Larry is the answer. He’s kind, honest, and endlessly forgiving — great for kids, adults, beginners, or seasoned riders alike. His strong build can carry riders of all sizes comfortably, and his gentle soul makes him a barn favorite everywhere he goes.
Easy to catch, groom, bathe, tack up, and trailer — Larry is the definition of ""low maintenance with high reward."" He loves attention, stands like a gentleman for the farrier, and is happy whether he's on the trail or being pampered in the barn.
We’ve poured our hearts into Larry, and now he’s ready to meet his forever person. If you're looking for a reliable, affectionate, talented horse who will turn heads and steal hearts — Larry is your guy. Come meet him and see for yourself why everyone falls in love with him.
