W2 Horses is proud to offer Jazzy Roan, affectionately known as JR, a beautiful, sweet, and friendly 6-year-old registered Tennessee Walking Horse/McCurdy Plantation Horse gelding, standing 15.3 hands high with unmatched talents! JR is exceptionally special in every way, from his gorgeous bay roan color, extensive training, experience level, big personality, and loving heart. Let's not forget to mention that he quickly becomes everyone's favorite horse in the barn! JR has been a part of our family for a wonderful year and a half, and we have cherished every moment with him. From laying the groundwork with basic training to advancing his skills in the saddle and mastering tricks, he has excelled in every way. JR has always had a gentle, easy-going, and willing demeanor from the start. Through every phase of the training process, he has been eager to learn with a great attitude and is always a pleasure to be around. He is a solid and safe trail partner that you can always count on. JR is the horse of a lifetime and is looking for you! We have taken the time to train JR slowly and correctly from the beginning. Starting with the basics, he knows how to lunge freely or on a line, change directions, and come to you by simply reading your body language. He has also started liberty training and will follow you slowly and respectfully. JR has spent abundant time learning flexion in the saddle. He responds to leg pressure and can yield his shoulders and hindquarters independently. He is always respectful and soft, with lots of feel on the ground and in the saddle. JR has a fancy way of going with an incredibly smooth and effortless gait that will make you feel like you are floating through the clouds. His gait is so natural; he is even consistently smooth on a loose rein and bridleless! There is no effort or skill needed for a smooth ride. JR's natural gait is a rare quality! It is a testament to his lineage, which traces back to the great horses of the 1930s and prior, including Go Boy McCurdy, McCurdy's Fox, Miss B Allen, Midnight Mack K, Go Boys Rocket, and Roan Allen Again. JR is a grandson of our late stud, McCurdy's Roan Lightning, one of the prominent leading sires in the McCurdy Plantation Horse Registry, which makes him eligible to be registered in the McCurdy Plantation Horse Registry and Association. In addition to his amazing gait, JR also has a super smooth, comfortable lope. He effortlessly lopes both leads on cue and has soft, easy transitions. JR has an outstanding handle, easily neck reins and side passes, has a nice stop with your seat, and backs up with ease. He does it all so well that he will ride just as perfectly, bareback and bridleless! To add to his solid foundation, JR has experience trail riding, bird hunting, and doing everyday ranch work. JR is a pleasure to ride. He is honest, quiet, and solid on the trail. He has traveled across the United States trail riding and recently conquered the challenging terrain of the Rocky Mountains in Wyoming and Colorado. Trustworthy and sure-footed, JR will go wherever you point him, confidently navigate through thick sagebrush, and carefully cross down timber. JR will walk along on a loose rein and get along anywhere on the trail. He will lead the group or happily lag in the back. You can be confident taking him out riding alone or with large groups of horses, as he has experience with both. He fearlessly navigates water, ditches, and bridges and remains unfazed by traffic, machinery, bullwhips, flags, and wildlife. JR has experience bird hunting and is excellent with gunfire! He is great roading dogs and does not mind if they jump all over him. He will even let them hop on and ride in the saddle with you. We have even done some cowboy-mounted shooting on him for fun! He does not mind the loud gunfire or the balloons popping in his face, and he navigates the obstacles like a pro! JR is also very handy to have on the ranch. He has experience checking, gathering, and sorting cattle. He will side pass to open and close gates and drag anything you dally to the saddle horn. Adding to his impressive list of skills, JR is not just good at tricks; he's great at them! He'll stand patiently for you to mount and sidestep towards anything you ask with just a snap of your fingers, making it super easy to hop on. He's also happy to lay down when you ask him to, whether you are on the ground or in the saddle! And get this, he will even smile big for you when you tell him to "say cheese!" JR loves showing off his tricks, especially when a treat is involved. He is easy to teach and always eager to learn new things. JR is incredibly easy to ride. Despite his advanced training and ability to respond to complex cues, you don't need to worry about using them to enjoy your ride. He's perfectly suitable for riders of all ages, from children to adults, and is wonderful with kids. His stout build and big bones allow him to carry riders of any size comfortably. JR is well-versed in putting in a full day's work, but he also loves nothing more than a leisure trail ride. JR is a real sweetheart. He's always so patient and loving, no matter what you ask of him. JR is easy to catch in the pasture, quiet in the stall, and gets along great with other horses. He stands patiently for saddling and will drop his head with slight pressure at his poll to take the bridle gently. He will willingly pick up all four feet and stand quietly for the farrier. He loads in the trailer without hesitation and will back out carefully. JR loves all the attention he can get and enjoys being groomed, bathed, and pampered. JR is a fun and loving horse who always wants to please you and be your friend. He is a social butterfly and loves being around people. Whether he's being brushed, getting neck massages, doing groundwork, learning new tricks, or spending time in the saddle, he truly enjoys being with you. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time with JR and look forward to seeing where his journey takes him next! JR is a wonderful family horse - reliable, tolerant, gentle, honest, patient, and kind in every way. His affectionate nature will make you smile every time he greets you.
