Under saddle, he’s nothing less than extraordinary. J.J. is soft in the bridle and rides in a simple O-ring snaffle. He neck reins one-handed, side-passes with ease, and stops off your seat with a softness that feels like he’s reading your thoughts. His gaits are natural, from his signature fox trot to his 4 mph smooth ground-covering trail walk, and a lope that feels like floating. He will even lope both leads beautifully. He carries a beautiful, natural headset with style and pride. J.J. is bold and brave on the trail, no matter where you point him. He’s tackled rugged terrain with confidence, packed gear through mountains, and is good with water, bridges, traffic, wagons, and wildlife. He’s sure-footed, athletic, and has all-day stamina. He’s been around cattle, bullwhips, dogs, and even swings a rope like a seasoned ranch horse, and you can rope the dummy off him. He’ll drag whatever you dally to the horn and handle it like a pro.
