W2 Horses is proud to offer Kings Redberry Chex! A registered, 4.5-year-old AQHA gelding affectionately known as Rudy or Roo. 😍
Rudy is absolutely gorgeous with the biggest personality and most loving heart. Rudy is exceptionally special in every way, and his training and experience level make him the total package! His rich golden color, beautiful dapples, long white mane, and ground-dragging tail are just a bonus!
We purchased Rudy when he was just a yearling, and for the last 3.5 years, we have loved teaching him everything he knows, from the basics to advanced training in the saddle, tricks, and more. From the start, Rudy has always had a gentle, easy-going, willing demeanor. Through every phase of the training process, he has been eager to learn with a great attitude and is always a pleasure to be around.
Rudy has been trained slowly and correctly, learning all the basics first. He knows how to lunge freely or on a line, change directions, and come to you by simply reading your body language. He will follow you around slowly and respectfully, back up, and side pass to you on the ground without ever touching him. In the saddle, Rudy has spent abundant time learning flexion, moving off your legs, yielding his hindquarters, and picking up his shoulders. Rudy is always respectful and soft with lots of feel on the ground and in the saddle. Rudy has a fancy way of going, a lovely soft trot, and will lope both leads on cue with simple, easy transitions. Rudy has an excellent handle, neck reins, side passes, responds to leg cues, has a good stop, nice proper turnaround, and backs with ease.
To add to Rudy’s solid foundation, he has years of experience on the trails and ranch work. Rudy is a pleasure to ride. He is honest, quiet, and solid on the trails. He is confident in rough terrain, sure-footed, and will go wherever you point him. Rudy is safe and confident to ride out alone and is happy leading a group or quietly following along in the back. We have spent an abundant amount of time desensitizing Rudy to everything you can think of. From the beginning, nothing has phased Roo as he has willingly accepted everything we have thrown in his direction. He is excellent with traffic, machinery, gunfire, bullwhips, wildlife, bicycles, crossing water, carrying the flag, and riding bareback. He is great with crazy dogs jumping all over him and will even let them ride in the saddle with you. Rudy is so good; we have even shot large fireworks from his back! Rudy has also been started in cowboy mounted shooting! He does not mind the loud gunfire or balloons popping in his face. He navigates the obstacles like a pro and has even done well picking up some speed.
Rudy is also very handy to have on the ranch with lots of experience checking, gathering, and sorting cattle. We have used him to pasture rope and doctor yearlings. He has been slowly started on the roping dummy but has not roped out of the box. He will side pass to open and close gates and will drag anything you dally to the saddle horn.
To add to his already impressive resume, Rudy also knows a few tricks! He will stand like a gentleman for mounting and will side pass up to the mounting block with the snap of your fingers to make mounting easy anywhere! He will lay down on command from the ground or his back and will also sit like a dog! Rudy truly enjoys it when you take time to play with him and ask him to do his tricks for a treat! Rudy is easy to teach and is always happy to learn new things.
Rudy is easy and simple to ride. Although he has advanced training and fancy cues, you do not have to use them to have an enjoyable ride. Rudy is great with kids and has been ridden by all ages, from experienced children to adults. He is stout enough to carry any size rider with his shapey, stocky build, and big bones. Rudy knows how to put in a hard day's work but will happily enjoy a leisure ride down the trail. Rudy naturally prefers to go slow, but he will always give you more if you ask him. Rudy does not have a mean bone in his body. He is a lover and is patient in everything you ask of him.
Rudy is easy to catch in the pasture, quiet in the stall, and gets along great with other horses. He stands patiently for saddling and will drop his head with slight pressure at his poll to take the bridle gently. He will willingly pick up all four feet and stand quietly for the farrier. He loads in the trailer without hesitation and will back out carefully. Rudy loves all the attention he can get and enjoys being groomed, bathed, and pampered.
Rudy is a fun and loving horse who wants to please and be your friend. He is a social butterfly and just loves people. He truly wants to be with you, whether that means laying in the stall with him, brushing him, neck massages, groundwork, tricks, or time in the saddle. His big, outgoing, playful personality will always make you smile, and his goofy antics will keep you laughing. It will only take a few minutes with Roo, and you’ll have no choice but to fall in love with him. Rudy is perfect in every way and is ready for anything! We would love for you to meet Rudy in person and take him for a ride to see firsthand how great he is. Roo is one of the good ones… the kind you find once in your life.
